Abstract

This paper argues that strict adherence to Arabic linguistic principles is essential for the credibility and validity of scientific interpretations of the Qur'an. It develops a framework grounded in classical Arabic lexicons and exegetical traditions to distinguish between sound and erroneous scientific interpretations, illustrated through key examples such as “mountains as pegs” and “Dahaha.” The paper demonstrates that scientific I‘jaz is inseparable from linguistic I‘jaz, and only through rigorous application of Arabic linguistic and methodological principles can scientific miracles be credibly identified in the Qur’an. This contribution clarifies methodological boundaries and enhances the scholarly discourse on I‘jaz ‘Ilmi.
